Privacy Policy

BestQR is built privacy-first. Your QR codes are generated entirely inside your browser — there are no accounts, no servers storing your content, and nothing to leak. Here's exactly how that works.

Last updated: June 5, 2026
The short version

Everything you type into BestQR stays on your device. We don't run analytics on your codes, we never see their contents, and we don't sell or share anything — because there's nothing to sell.

Data we handle

BestQR is a static web tool. The QR codes you create — links, contact details, WiFi credentials, text and everything else — are processed locally in your browser. That content is never transmitted to us or stored on any server we control.

We deliberately collect as little as possible. Specifically, BestQR does not collect:

  • Account information — there are no sign-ups, logins, or profiles.
  • The contents of your QR codes — URLs, contacts and messages stay on your device.
  • Uploaded logos — images you add to a code are read in-browser and never uploaded.
  • Behavioral profiles — we don't build advertising or tracking profiles about you.

Your codes & library

When you save a QR code to My codes, it's stored in your browser's local storage — a private area on your own device. This is what lets your saved library survive a page refresh.

  • This data never leaves your device and is not synced to any cloud.
  • It is only readable by BestQR, in the browser where it was saved.
  • Clearing your browser data, or deleting codes inside BestQR, removes it permanently.
Because your library lives in one browser, it won't appear on a different device or browser. There's no account to recover it from — that's the trade-off for keeping everything fully private.

Third-party services

To keep BestQR lightweight, a few open-source resources are loaded from public content-delivery networks (CDNs) when the page opens:

  • Google Fonts — serves the typefaces used across the interface.
  • unpkg — delivers the QR rendering and icon libraries.

When your browser requests these files, the provider may receive standard technical information such as your IP address and browser type, as part of normal web delivery. We don't control those providers' practices, and we never send them the contents of your QR codes.

Cookies & tracking

BestQR sets no advertising or tracking cookies. We don't run third-party analytics, pixels, or fingerprinting scripts.

The only data BestQR stores on your device is the local storage used for your saved codes and preferences, described above — and that's entirely functional, never used to follow you around the web.

Your rights & control

Because your data lives on your device, you have direct, complete control over it at all times:

  • Delete a code — remove any saved code from the My codes section instantly.
  • Wipe everything — clearing your browser's site data erases your entire BestQR library.
  • Export freely — download any code as PNG or SVG to keep your own copy.

If you're in a region covered by laws like the GDPR or CCPA, the rights those laws grant — access, deletion and portability — are effectively exercised by you directly, since we never hold your data in the first place.

Children's privacy

BestQR is a general-purpose tool and is not directed at children under 13. Since we don't collect personal information or require accounts, no personal data is knowingly gathered from anyone, including children.

Changes to this policy

If we update how BestQR works in a way that affects this policy, we'll revise this page and update the "last updated" date at the top. Material changes will be reflected clearly so you always know where you stand.
